Who are the FPA?
The Funeral Planning Authority (FPA) was set up to regulate providers in the UK prepaid funeral plan industry, to ensure providers that are FPA registered are operating in a manner will mean the customers get the funeral that they have paid for when they need it. In order to safeguard customers, the FPA states that all registered funeral plan providers must place the client’s money in a whole of life insurance policy on the life of the Planholder, or place monies in a trust. Why should I take out a funeral plan?
Taking out a Prepaid Funeral Plan allows you to make important decisions about what you and your family want from the funeral. Once it’s paid, we will not request a penny more for the services included in the Plan, so you’ll have complete peace of mind, knowing you have prepared financially.
Taking out a Funeral Plan will also help save your loved ones the worry and stress of making all the funeral arrangements at such an emotional time because they will already know what you wanted and an expert funeral arranger will be there to guide and support them every step of the way.
My funeral wishes are included in my will, why do I need a prepaid funeral plan?
Wills are often left unread until after the funeral so it can be difficult to ensure your wishes are passed on.
I have savings and life insurance, will this not cover the costs of my funeral?
With funeral costs rising year on year, you may find that your savings and life insurance aren’t enough to cover the cost of a funeral.
By taking out a Simplicity Prepaid Funeral Plan, you can freeze funeral costs at today’s prices, so no matter how much they rise, so you can guarantee there will be no more to pay for the funeral services covered in the plan when the time comes.
What happens if funeral costs rise in future?
A funeral plan is designed to cover the costs of your chosen funeral package even if prices go up in future. So, you can be sure there will be no ‘hidden costs’ further down the line for the services covered by your plan.
I like the sound of a Simplicity Cremation, but I’m not ready to commit to a prepaid funeral plan, how can I share my wishes?
If you’re thinking about a Simplicity Cremation for yourself, but you’re not ready to buy a funeral plan yet, our share your wishes form might be for you.
What happens to my plan if you go out of business?
As an FPA registered provider, our finances and procedures are independently reviewed by the Authority. It is a requirement for registered providers to place the funds paid for the funeral plan into an independently managed trust fund or a whole of life insurance policy.
The money you pay for your Simplicity Cremations Prepaid Funeral Plan goes into the National Funeral Trust, where the funds required for your funeral are held securely and managed carefully to make sure that the services in your plan are covered. The Trust is independently managed by some of the UK’s most respected investment companies, so you can be sure it will be properly protected.<
As part of the Dignity group, one of the UK’s most respected group of funeral directors, even in the unlikely event that the Trust is unable to cover the funeral plan costs, we should be able to meet the promises made to the Planholder.

When your plan has been set up, we'll send you a Planholder pack and a Funeral Organiser pack in the post to share with your next of kin.
How do I pay online?
It’s easy to arrange your Prepaid Funeral Plan online and we use the latest security technology to protect your payments. If you choose to make a single payment, you can use either a credit or debit card. Alternatively, you can take advantage of one of our flexible payment options by setting up a Direct Debit.
Do I have to pay all at once?
No, we offer a range of flexible payment options so you can choose to pay for your funeral plan in the most convenient way for you, whether that be a single payment, over 12 months at no extra cost or over up to 120 monthly instalments.
If I choose to pay by instalments, what options are there?
You can spread the cost of your Funeral Plan over 12 months, at no extra cost.
Longer fixed terms are also available provided that all payments over any term longer than 12 months are completed by the 80th birthday of the person named on the plan and the instalment term does not exceed the maximum term available.
Plans purchased over a period greater than 12 months will incur an additional fee. This charge is needed to make sure the money paid into the Trust Fund can increase in line with Inflation during the term of the Plan and means that we can still provide the guaranteed services in the Agreement, irrespective of when the Funeral Plan is required.
Can I take out a funeral plan on another person’s behalf?
