THE FAMILY-LED FUNERAL
The Orchid Plan is a simple funeral plan that covers the costs of all the practical and essential elements of a cremation, without the need to pay for traditional ceremonial aspects you might not want. It enables your family to organise a personalised funeral service in the chapel, with help from our professional experts over the phone. Your family can choose the ceremonial format, music, visual tributes and selection of a minister or celebrant.
Care of the deceased
It’s important to understand what isn’t included in The Orchid Plan. This plan does not include:
Prepaid Plan Terms & Conditions
* Medical certification fees. For deaths where a coroner investigation is required, there are no medical certifications fees. Also, changes to legislation in May 2015 mean there will no longer be a charge for a medical certification for any deaths registered in Scotland. Similar legal changes are being considered for the rest of the UK, so we do not include provision for these fees in our Plans. If the funeral takes place outside of Scotland, and a coroner is not involved, then if applicable, the medical certification fees should be paid by the next of kin or personal representative, when arranging the funeral.
UNDERSTANDING THE PLAN
Once your plan is set up, you can have peace of mind that we’ll keep your funds safe in a Funeral Trust Fund. When the time comes, your loved ones only need to make a single phone call to us and we’ll start to make arrangements straightaway.
The service was very efficient and on a practical level all went very smoothly. However I feel that you need to brush up on your communications. On the day Dad died I spoke to a very helpful young lady who took all the details and promised she would ring me later in the day to let me know when Dad had been collected from the care home and where he had been taken to. However I never heard any more and had to get that information from the nurse at the care home. The following week I had a visit from the funeral director who was also very kind and promised to let me know when dad had been cremated, probably the following week. On Thursday 14th Nov I received a very brief email from Simplicity to tell me that the cremation had taken place, but not when. I thought this was rather cold and impersonal. Yesterday, 19th November, I had the promised phone call from the funeral director who informed me that the cremation had actually taken place on 13th Nov and that she had been there. It had taken her nearly a week to let me know so it was probably just as well that I had received the formal email or I would have still been wondering.
I was very pleased how everything was done for me simple and no fuss I have told my children That is exactly the same simplicity service I would like when it is my time Thankyou

No Location Provided
I found that every time I needed to someone at Simplicity Cremations, they were able to tell me exactly at what stage my husbands journey at. everyone was both empathic and sympathetic. I have had such a good experience I am even considering organising my own funeral with them.
Very Private and informative did not take a long time to sign up with all the help I needed was quick and understanding.
