Opened in January 2006 by the Bishop of Southwell, it was the first crematorium in the UK to be designed and built with environmental protection in mind, safeguarding against heavy metal pollution, which is a severe threat to marine habitats.

There is a Wesley Music System with an extensive selection of songs as well as space for a traditional organ.
