Our Simplicity Cremation is a ’direct cremation’ - an unattended cremation with no funeral service. It offers a straightforward and affordable alternative to a traditional funeral.

We hand-deliver the ashes, or you can collect them

You can choose to collect the ashes from the crematorium, we can hand-deliver them anywhere in mainland Great Britain, or we can scatter the ashes for you in our beautiful gardens of remembrance.

: A traditional cremation has a service at the crematorium with mourners present, whereas a direct cremation like we provide is unattended. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t have a service at all to celebrate the life of a loved one.
Lots of people choose to honour someone in a place that feels more meaningful to the person who has died. For example, they may choose a service at their local place of worship, while others plan a celebration of life at their local sports club or a gathering to scatter the ashes.
With an affordable Simplicity Cremation, you have the freedom to plan something as special as the person you’re remembering.
: At Simplicity Cremations we have our own care centres and crematoria network across Great Britain. We take care of every part of the funeral process, from the first phone call to the collection or delivery of the ashes.
Where we can, we keep things local, and no matter what, the cremation will always take place in one of our crematoria. We set high standards for ourselves, and we’re proud to offer exceptional funeral care every step of the way.
: What happens to the ashes is your choice. We can arrange for you to collect them from the crematorium, or we can scatter them in our beautiful gardens of remembrance. Alternatively, we can hand deliver them to you for an extra fee.
Some families choose to keep the ashes at home, bury them in their own garden or scatter them somewhere meaningful to the person who has died.
If you would like to, you can also talk to us about creating a memorial within the crematorium grounds, or including a dedication in the crematorium’s Book of Remembrance. A direct cremation gives you the freedom to remember someone your way.
: We offer a direct cremation from just £1,399, which is cheaper than both Co-op (£1,445) and Pure Cremation (£1,495).
While some funeral providers may offer cheaper direct cremations than Simplicity, price should not be the only consideration. It’s also important to choose the plan that best meets your needs, from a provider who consistently delivers high standards of care.

: You can arrange a Simplicity Cremation over the phone via our UK customer service centre in around 20 mins, although each individual case is different and dependant on your individual needs.
While you can buy a Simplicity Cremations funeral plan online, we don’t currently offer this feature for a direct cremation.
: No, with a direct cremation it’s uncommon for you to be able to visit the deceased and this is not something we offer at Simplicity Cremations.
: No, embalming is not included with a direct cremation from Simplicity. A direct cremation is a simple, practical alternative to a traditional funeral, and it does not involve embalming or other invasive preparation of the body. Because there is no viewing, visitation, or service with the deceased present, embalming is not required.
By removing these additional processes, direct cremation remains a more affordable and straightforward option while still ensuring the deceased is cared for with dignity and respect.
: No, typically a direct cremation is an unattended funeral with no mourners present. While some providers do offer the option of a small number of attendees, to keep costs as low as possible this is not something we offer.
