What to expect if your loved one has purchased a funeral plan
Understanding the funeral plan your loved one put into place
My loved one had a Simplicity Cremations Prepaid Funeral Plan, but I can’t find any paperwork
Don’t worry if you can’t find any paperwork with details of your loved one’s funeral plan. Simply give us a call and we will be able to trace details of the funeral plan on our system.
What’s covered in the funeral plan
What’s included will depend on the funeral plan selected by your loved one which would have been based on how many people they’d like in attendance at their funeral.
All of our plans cover the costs of the cremation fees, provision of a simple coffin, care at one of our mortuaries and transportation of the deceased to the crematorium. The ashes will be returned in a simple container within 6 weeks of the cremation. We also offer bereavement counselling, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
See details of each of our plans here.
Are there any extra costs?
Unlike a traditional funeral, our plans do not include a formal service or the presence of a minister or celebrant, a procession, embalming or viewing of the deceased.
There will be additional costs if you choose to make further arrangements or add on additional services.
If your loved one purchased The Orchid Plan, you will have half an hour in the crematorium so you can arrange a family led ceremony. We can advise of a minister or officiant in your area should you wish to engage their services.
Doctor’s fees will also be chargeable where applicable as this is a third party charge.
Can I change the funeral plan purchased?
If you’d prefer to upgrade to one of our other plans we can arrange this over the phone.
If you were unhappy with their choice of plan from Simplicity, you could transfer the funds across to another funeral provider within the Dignity group.
If you would prefer to cancel the plan altogether, we can refund the balance paid less a cancellation fee.
Where will the funeral take place?
The funeral will be held at one of our crematoria, nearest to the place of rest.
One phone call is all it takes
When the time comes, all it takes is one phone call to put the funeral plan in motion.
Once the plan has been activated, our team of telephone funeral arrangers will be on hand 24/7 to guide you through the entire process.
We will bring your loved one into one of our high quality mortuary facilities, where we will prepare and care for them until the day of the cremation.
If there are any outstanding instalments left on the plan, you will be required to pay the remaining balance.
